How are your quilts made?

1) Firstly small patches of fabric are cut in various shapes & sizes and then handstitched together to make a pattern, this is the quilt block.

2) The quilt blocks are then handstitched together making the top layer of the quilt, this is the most decorative part of the patchwork quilt.

3) Next the soft filler (wadding), in either cotton or polyester, is placed underneath the top layer.

4) Then one large piece of fabric, usually in a plain or floral design, is placed underneath the filling.

5) To complete the quilt all  three layers are then quilted together with fine stitching.

What are the quilts for?

Our quilts provide an extra layer of warmth above your sheets and blankets or duvet and the beautiful designs create a decorative top layer for your bed.  They are incredibly versatile and look equally fabulous alone or with matching pillow shams and cushions.  

Are your quilts machine washable?

Yes, all of our quilts and baby quilts are machine washable. We recommend a cool wash in a front loading machine on a gentle cycle. Do not use bleach. Wash separately and spot clean if required. Do not dry clean. The quilts may not withstand commercial cleaning chemicals due to their handmade nature. Line drying is recommended, do not tumble dry.

Our quilts are available in the following sizes:

Single: 86 x 68 inches (218 x 173cm)

Double/king: 105 x 95 inches (267 x 241cm)

King: 104 x 104 inches (264 x 264cm)

Luxury quilts: 110 x 97 inches ( 

All sizes are approximate. Due to their handmade nature, quilt sizes may vary very slightly. As bed sizes & heights can vary, we recommend you measure your own bed to establish how the quilt will fit and hang. If you will be using the quilt as your top cover, please allow for underblankets or duvets when measuring. For our customers who have high beds or divan beds, where the quilt may not reach the floor, we offer fine quality 100% cotton valances that coordinate beautifully with all our quilts & bedspreads. Pillowshams: 20 x 30 inches (51 x 76cm)

The pillowsham size is also approximate, sizes include frills and stitched borders. The pillowshams are sized and designed to snuggly fit a standard size pillow.

Cushions: 16 x 16 inches (41 x 41 cm)

Cushion sizes also include frills and stitched borders. All cushions come filled.

Choosing a quilt

To be absolutely sure you are making the right choice of quilt, it is a good idea to start by ordering a pillow sham(s) in your desired quilt colour and design. Delivery is free (UK mainland) and returning any unwanted pillow shams is very cheap and easy, costing you little more than a £1 per sham. Please return pillowshams by recorded delivery to:
