Pickering makes a wonderful day out or place to come and stay offering its own steam railway which runs to Goathland where the BBC series 'Heartbeat' is filmed, it has a museum and array of fantastic shops and places to eat out and Dalby forest just up the road, which is great for walks and cycling. . Only a few miles away is the historic city of York and coastal town of Scarborough.
